Movement is essential to physical and mental health and well-being. With a sedentary lifestyle, we invite a host of diseases and illnesses. Whatever it is we do in life, caring for children, engaging in recreational or elite sports and activities, housework, or the work we do to pay the bills, optimum movement is vital.

What IS optimal movement? Optimal movement is pain-free and utilizes minimal energy output, yielding maximal fluidity, and harmony. This type of movement brings about a physical and mental sharpness and ability that can benefit all aspects of our lives and has often been described as a “flow state”.

At Humans Moving the goal is not only to rehabilitate physical injury and coach optimum movement but to facilitate flourishing humans! Movement is a portal through which we can discover our full potential, identify our personal hurdles, and ultimately develop the mental and physical skills to live life to its fullest!

Who is humans moving? It’s me, Abby Hippely. I am a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) and American College Of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) with 7+ years of experience coaching humans toward optimum movement. I graduated in May 2020 with a B.S. in Athletic Training from San Jose State University. I combine 11 years of personal experience as an elite-level mountain bike racer with a health and human science education in sports medicine and injury rehabilitation to create my specific approach to your personal movement needs.

I can be found here in Santa Cruz; mountain biking, dancing Salsa and West and Central African dance, training the Brazillian “dance-fight” known as capoeira, SUP-ing at Cowells, weight lifting in my home gym, swimming, running, and doing yoga. If there is a type of movement that I do not know how to do, this is where I like to be, learning and growing in this crazy-wild ride we call life.

Contact me for one-on-one or small group movement sessions in your home gym or mine. I’m mobile! Know someone who's been bitten by the mountain biking bug? I am also available for one-on-one or small group mountain bike skills technique and training, here in the beautiful Santa Cruz mountains. I work with humans of all ages.

I can be reached by email. Just click on the “Contact” tab above to send an email.
